Peace

Devotions:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Hebrew word for peace means wholeness, nothing lacking, nothing broken.  God will keep us in perfect wholeness, nothing lacking, nothing broken.  Wholeness means that we walk in divine health not just healing.  God wants us to walk in perfect wholeness.  How do we do this?  Isaiah says because our mind, our thoughts, our imagination is fixed on God.  Our thoughts, our mind, our imagination is fixed on the love of God and His promises to us.  Satan's job is to get our mind off of God and onto our circumstances and our past experiences.

God is the one who will keep us in peace as we give him our attention because we are assured that God is for us and watching over us.

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”  ‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the New Testament, Jesus is our peace, our wholeness.  We are complete in Him.

Colossians 2:10  We are to keep our minds then fixed on Jesus.  The way we do this is through our praise and thanksgiving.  When we know that we are forgiven then our mouth is continually full of praise to God and our heart is full of peace.  When we know that we are the righteousness of God then our mouth is full of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs of thanksgiving and praise.

Instead of imagining calamity and evil things happening to us we only see blessings because our God is with us.  As we practice His presence in good times then it is easier to practice His presence when evil tidings come.

Stress is one of the major sources of disease.  The cure for stress is the peace of God.  Our only job is to obey God and let Him do the rest, fight our battles, provide for our every need, keep us out of temptation, keep us out of trouble.  When our mind is stayed upon Him we are walking with Him.  What fills your mind? thoughts of God and His goodness or thoughts of the troubled world and your troubled life without God?
