Devotions:
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 NKJV
God calls into a relationship with Him. No relationship is of value unless there is fellowship and communication. In order to establish our fellowship and our open communication with Him, God became our right standing with Him through Jesus. This righteousness is not just something that is marked to our account but it is an actual reality that God in imparting His life to us, has given us. God has called us into this place of fellowship that we humans might walk with the Almighty God as sons. Our relationship does not depend upon us and our actions but on what Jesus did in His act of obedience unto the Father. It is His obedience that makes us right with the Father. This insures our place before the Father becasue Jesus never changes. Our place before the Father does not depend on rules and regulations but on His eternal life within us. Then as we focus on that eternal life that we have in Jesus our obedient actions then are a fruit of our fellowship with the Father. When we come into the Father's presence and are walking at rest in the finished work of Jesus on our behalf so that we are no longer fearful of the Father for retribution for misbehavior but are confident in His love for us, we never want to leave that presence. His presence is pure love, acceptance and forgiveness. If we claim to walk in that presence but live like the world, then we truly have not come to know or experience that presence. We are a dwelling place of His presence and when we become established in His love for us, we are consciously aware of His I dwelling presence. In His presence, nothing is impossible. He supplies and fulfills every need that we have. Abiding in His presence we are aware of this and accept it by faith. If we are unsure of our posistion before Him, the enemy comes and steals the Father's provision by placing doubt in our hearts about the Father's great love for us.
“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
I Corinthians 1:9 NKJV
“that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” I John 1:3 NKJV
