Secure in God's Love

Devotions:
“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.” 1 John 4:16-18 NASB
God's desire is that we abide, remain, live in His love. We need to believe and become convinced in the magnitude of God's love for us. As we believe how much God loves us and bask in that love His love begins to flow in His love to others. We have no fear of judgement because of His love for us and in that love He has made us just like Him. If we have a fear of whether or not are pleasing to God then we will be held in bondage and not be matured and perfected in His love. We have been made just like Him by His power at work in us. The more we focus and meditate on His love for us the easier it is for us to get our prayers answered. The more we spend time thinking about His love for us the more we will want to obey Him thoroughly and diligently. God's love for us is so phenominal, so fantastic that we cannot mentally comprehend it. We can just experience it through believing God's word.
God abides in us through the new birth so His love is in us. We just need to recognize that love in us. It is by the love of God that we are made whole and complete. All of our sin comes from our borkenness and incompeteness that we experience without God and our trying to fill the void and heal the pain without God. The void can only be filled by the presence of God's love. The pain can only be healed by the presence of the healing balm of His love. Our problem is that we turn to everything else to fill the void and heal the pain. Nothing can heal us, fill us or complete us except the love of God. Make His love, and walking in that love as your goal.
