Devotions:
“And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Luke 4:4 KJV
“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:47-49 KJV
Our life consist of spiritual life as well as physical life. The spiritual is more important than the physical but because we are more orientated to the physical because we are more in tune with our five physical senses. As we must feed our physical bodies in order to survive, we must also feed our spirits in order to stay spiritually strong. If we do not feed our spirit we will live a very low grade physical life. We were created to live a supernatural life. We were created to partner with God and live above the day to day grind of the natural life.
Jesus said that as we hear His word and do them we will be established and stand against the onslaughts of the enemy. The enemy attacks everyone but only those who are founded on the word of God will stand and not be shaken by tha attack. We are to be doers of all the word of God as He reveals it to us. That is we cannot pick and choose what we will accept and what we will not accept as God reveals it to us. As we take the word of God seriously and spend time meditating in it daily inorder to do all that is written in it we become established in His will. When sickness attacks we know that God is our healer and we will not take no for an answer. The same with any other part of the curse that sin introduced to the human race. WE feed on the revelation of the provision that our loving heavenly Father provided in the passion of Jesus. The word of God is Jesus. As we are doers of the word of God, the word once again becomes flesh and people see the glory of the Lord in our lives.
