Miracle Working Power

Devotions:
“And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.”
Mark 6:51-56 KJV
Jesus had just fed the five thousand men with five loaves and two fish and had twelve baskets left over. Everyone was satisfied. He then sent the disciples in a boat to the other side while He went up on the mountain to pray. At about three in the morning Jesus comes walking on the sea and was going to pass them by. But they called out with fear and He approached the boat. The disciples were amazed and wondered. They considered not the miracle of the loaves: their hearts were hardened. That is they did not understand that the natural elements were subject to Jesus through the power of the Spirit. Jesus did not operate as God when He walked the earth but as a mere man anointed with the Holy Spirit. He multiplied the loaves and fish as Elisha did, He walked on water, He healed the sick and restored the lame and the maimed and the paralytic. This is the ministry of Jesus and we are to do this ministry and greater because Jesus ascended to the Father on our behalf.
Today we have hardened hearts in that we do think that we can do the works of Jesus. But John 14:12 says that we can do those works. The only way that we can do those works is the same way that Jesus did the works, by the power of the Holy Spirit upon us and the Father's indewlling presence within us. The works will by exclusively by the grace of God and not by our works. Jesus said that those who believed on Him would do the works. We must then have faith in Jesus and who he has made us. We were made in the likeness and image of God so we look just like Jesus. He has given us His righteousness so we the same access to the Father and the same favor with the Father that Jesus has.
The works of Jesus testified to the reality of the Father. The works that God does through us testify to the resurrection of Jesus and the reality of the Father. We should expect the works of the Spirit to be in manifestation through us as we walk by the Spirit even as they were with Jesus.
