Holiness

Devotions:

“And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.”  ‭Exodus‬ ‭29:43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To sanctify is to set apart unto a special use.  The glory of God present in the tabernacle set it apart as a special tent.  It was then not just an ordinary tent but a tent of God's presence. God's presence is the place of His blessings.

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.”  ‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sanctification and holiness are the same thing. We were made holy by the sacrifice of Jesus as represented by His blood.  He is our holiness, that is in Him we are set apart unto God and unto His blessing.  When we are born again we are born out of death and the curse and into Jesus and the blessing.  Our place in Jesus never changes.  So we are forever sanctified in Jesus.  In the Old Covenant the tabernacle was sanctified by the glory of God.  The Holy Spirit is the glory of God and by the work of Jesus on the cross we have become that tabernacle, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.  His presence in us sets us apart for His blessings.  We are not trying to become holy, we are holy in Jesus and we are discovering our holiness as we draw close to Him.

Recognize who you are, holy in Christ.  Focus on the finished work of Christ. And praise Him for what He has done, made you holy.
