Obedience of Faith

“By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:”. Romans‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The theme of the book of Romans is the obedience of faith.  This is not obedience from fear of punishment or reprisals or duty but of faith in God and what He has done. It is faith in our redemption. God is looking for not just obedience but obedience from the heart.  God is not about behavior modification but true transformation of the heart.  We go from strength to strength, from His strength to our strength.  We live from glory to glory.  We have an earthly glory but we are looking for a heavenly glory.  We have the earnest of the heavenly glory and the more we walk in it the more it will be manifested through us.

As we find our who we are in the Lord Jesus the more we walk in conformity to Him.  he has made us like Him and placed in our hearts the desire to do His will. He also then provides us with the ability to obey as we look to His power within us.

Paul says that we have received grace for the obedience of faith. This grace is revealed by the word of God. One of the greatest revelations in the word of God is that we have become the righteousness of God. When we truly believe that then the enemy will have no power over us in any realm.  He will not be able to oppress us in our souls, our bodies, in our call to fullfil the will of God for our lives, in our finances. As we know that we are His righteousness then we will know that we are beloved sons.  As loving sons we will then act in love towards our Heavenly Father.

“But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
