Under Authority

Devotions:

“And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”  ‭Mark‬ ‭11:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Everything that Jesus did, He did under the authority of the Father, that is why as a man He operated in power, signs and miracles.  If we are to do the works of Jesus, which He said we would do, we must also understand and operate under the authority of the Father.  We must know our authority. If we see ourselves as unworthy then we will not have the faith to do the works.  Our worthiness is from the blood of Jesus.

We also must by submitted under the authority of the Father.  We are not lone rangers but we walk in submission to the Father and in relationship with each other.  To be in submission we must know the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Father's embassy of God.  We must know how the Holy Spirit leads us, by the inner witness mostly, so that we can learn obedience to Him. This is what is necessary to do the works of Jesus.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus insured access to the Father because of His sacrifice. In order to do His works we must be in close with the Father everyday. We cannot do the works of Jesus unless we are submitted to the Father but our privilege is to do the works of Jesus. This is our calling, to demonstrate the Father's love to a lost generation.  It is not our works but the Father working through us. We are to just yield.
