Lordship

Devotions:
“Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.” 1 Corinthians 12:2 KJV
“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.” Ephesians 2:1-3 NASB
Satan's lie is that we are our own lord. But in reality there are only two lords. Satan and the Lord Jesus. You must choose whose lordship you will be under. If you walk in sin you are being led by demonic spirits and are under the lordship of Satan. As a Christian we have been delivered from the cruel lordship of Satan and placed under the Lordship of Jesus.
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,” Colossians 1:13 NASB
There is no inbetween ground. We are either following the leadership of the Holy Spirit or we are following demons. When we have impulses and urges to do things that are not in love but in selfishness then we are following demons. Jesus came to deliver us from the lordship of the devil and place us under His Lordship. If we do not like being submitted to His Lordship then we are in rebellion and under the lordship of the original rebel, Satan. So who are you serving?
“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."” Joshua 24:15 NASB
