Walking in Blessings of God
Devotions:
“Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "- in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:11-14 NASB
We are to live by faith in what God has done for us. We are to believe that God has already done everything that is necessary for our redemption and that we walk as the favorite sons of God. We are yielded to His goodness, He is the only good in the universe, and have been set free from the consequences of sin.
The curse of the law can be found in Deuteronomy 28: 15-68. In it is every bad thing that could possibly happen to a person all through breaking the law of God. But Jesus kept the law perfectly and then died in our place imparting His perfection to us and taking the totallity of our sins upon Himself. We could never keep the law perfectly and even the slightest violation is a violation of the whole law and deserving of punishment. But Christ redeemed us from our violations and the resulting curse. Because of our redemption through Chirst, the blessing of Abraham is now on us. We should educate ourselves to this fact that we now walk under the blessing. We should expect the blessing to go with us everywhere we go and affect everything that we do with the favor of God. Everywhere we go and everything that we do we should expect the blessings of God as we are walking with Him. He has given us His Spirit to guide us around the pitfalls and snares of the evil one. Psalm 23 says that He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His Name sake.
Spend time with God to hear His heart and the wisdom of the universe. His blessings are ours as we follow Him. Following Him does not have to do with punishment or reward but learning to walk in the paths of life. We walk by the power of the Spirit within us.
