Sanctification

Devotions:
“Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 KJV
God's will is our sanctification, that is us being set apart for blessings. When we do not walk in love we are not walking in the blessings of God.
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” 1 Corinthians 15:50 KJV
As we walk in the flesh, as inspired and energized by the flesh, we do not walk in the power and blessings of God. We cannot please God in teh flesh but as we walk in and by the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit is to be led by the Spirit looking to God as our strength and source of supply. God is love so to walk in the Spirit is to walk in the God kind of love, not what about me but looking to be a blessing to those around us. It is looking ot give, honor and esteem others as better than ourselves. We treat those of the opposit sex in honor and respect not wanting to defile them in any way and not wanting to be defiled which would dishonor my life partner even before we meet. It is walking in purity because God is pure and His way is the way of the blessing.
Paul is saying that we ought to walk as who we are not as something foreign put upon us called holiness but to discover our holiness that was imparted at thenew birth.
God wants to bless us so much that His heart burst and He blesses everyone on the earth as much as they will allow Him. There is no blessing apart from Him and His blessings brings healings to our soul and body. So sanctification is a plus in our favor. Look to Him and rely upon Him for your sanctification.
