Devotions:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”  ‭3 John‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We believe that the scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit.  Here John states a basic principle, that we must first see ourselves as prosperous and healthy before we can walk in God's abundance and health.  As we see ourselves so we will do.  Many times we are not prospering because we see ourselves poor, emotionally we see ourselves poor.  When we start to get an ache or a pain we see ourselves sick.  Jesus paid the price for us to be redeemed from both poverty and sickness and disease.  When we live in poverty we pick up the habits of poverty and the thinking of poverty.  Our actions perfect our faith.

“You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;”  ‭James‬ ‭2:22‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The works that James is talking about is corresponding actions.  We act out what we believe.  If we say that we believe something then we will act as if what we believe it true even in contridictory circumstances.

We then must change our believing if we are to walk in the blessings of God.  We must be totally convinced that what God has said about us is true even when our bodies tell us different or when other circumstances tell us different.  When we believe that what God said is true because we have been in the presence of God with His word, we will then speak to the mountain of defiance in our circumstances that keep telling that God's word is a lie.  If Adam had done this in the garden of Eden things would have turned out differently.

Is your soul prospering?  How do you see yourself, sick? poor? never having enough? It is the word of God that will prosper your soul.  God's word it truth, the only truth. Believe it!
