Complete in Him
Devotions:
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:10 KJV
Satan tries to convince us that we are incomplete, damaged goods that no one would like much less love. We then go around trying to find someone to love us or something to make us feel good. Satan's job is to get us to doubt God's word and look at the our obvious brokenness. but when we believe God and what His word says, our faith will activate the truth in our lives. What we choose to believe determines how we see ourselves and how we walk. Satan uses all our failures to try to convince us that that is who we are. We need to take our identity from who God says we are not our circumstances. When we do that we start changing our future so that we no longer produce the same circumstances.
We are complete in Him.... Our fulfillment is in Him not in things, experiences, not even in other relationships. We were made to walk in intimacy with the Creator of the universe and no other thing, substance, experience or relationship can fulfill that void that is left by His absence. He has proactively chosen us and made the full provision for us to walk in that intimacy. When we seek the completeness in anything else then we are greatly dissappointed and seek even more of the same until we come to the one we were designed to be fulfilled by, our Father God.
One of the greatest weapons that we have is to believe what the word of God says about us and to ultimately believe His love for us. He loved us when we were sinners, so much that He made us complete. We are eternally complete in Him when we were born again, whether we believe it or not. Our behavior cannot change that but the more we become convinced of the truth of God's word the more our behavior will conform to our new nature.
