By the Spirit

Devotions:

      Everything that Jesus did on this earth was by the power of the Holy Spirit.  All of our salvation is by the power of the Spirit and not by our works.  We have been made totally accepted unto God through Jesus' sacrifice by the power of the Spirit.  We are saved by that work and the Spirit of God.  Salvation includes healing, deliverance, safety, wholeness all not by our works but by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the administrater of our salvation.  So salvation does not rely upon us but on God through His Spirit.  We can take nothing away from it and we can add nothing to it.  We cannot add any dietary laws or laws about the Sabbath or any other laws for our salvation.  Through the power of the Spirit God woos us to follow Him and then empowers us to walk with Him by His Spirit within us.  All the glory goes to God.  Our response in receiving what He has done is in praise and thanksgiving.       

        “Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.”  ‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NASB‬‬

        We are to listen to what the Spirit says and respond to it even as Jesus did.  We are to look totally to Him for everything in our lives.
