Devotions:

“"My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭89:34‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” ‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Healing is past tense, we have been healed.  Here in 1 Peter the Greek is by His stripe we were healed.  The Hebrew that this was taken from has noun form for two and plural but the Holy Spirit chose to use the singular because the stripes on the back of Jesus did not leave even the slenderest piece of skin to say that there were two different wounds.  His back was one massive wound. This stripe He bore to pay for our healing.  Our healing is a finished fact in the mind of God based on the work that Jesus did in His passion when He was made sin.  When we know and are fully persuaded that by His stripe we were healed then we will rejoice at the sympoms knowing that the sickness and disease has no choice but to leave our body.  We demonstrate our faith as we give radical praise because we know that God will not change His mind about our healing.

Here Peter makes a connection between our forgiveness and our healing.  Everything that  we receive from the Lord comes through the cross.  All the curse came through sin and all the curse was removed when Jesus paid the full price for our sin. If satan can keep us feeling unworthy and guilty becasue of our deeds then he can keep us from receiving what our Father delights providing for us.  We should not doubt God's desire, ability or proviision for our physical health.
