Seek the Kingdom

Devotions:

““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

‭Matthew‬ ‭6:31-34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In this teaching Jesus uses examples of the Father's provision in nature and that we are worth much more than nature.  Jesus tells us not to seek after these things even though from the natural stand point it is the thing to do.  He then tells us the thing to seek after, the kingdom of God....

“Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The kingdom of God comes within us at the new birth.  So we who are born again have the kingdom of God within us, we are having our minds renewed inorder to walk in the reality of the kingdom of God.  A part of this is learning about righteousness.  We must know that we live not by our righteousness but by His righteousness given to us.  As we saturate our thinking that the righteousness that we have is not because of our behavior but because of Jesus' behavior so our righteousness never wanes but is always the same, the righteousness of God.  This means that there is no hinderance between us and God our Father and nothing to stop His blessings from overtaking us.  Thus why worry about what to eat or to drink or to wear or even about our health, as we are walking in full understanding of His righteousness within us He provides just as the Father did for Jesus.  Refuse to worry and doubt.  Refuse to question God's provision and willingness to lavish that provision upon you. See yourself abiding in Jesus by His strength and receiving the fullness that you need from the Father.
