A Sweet Fragrance

Devotions:

If you love coffee, when you get up in the morning and smell a fresh pot brewing the smell creates a desire in you for a cup of coffee.  If you come home after a long day     and smell your favorite meal cooking, it creates in you a desire to have some of that food. If we smell something horrible and repulsive it can take away our appetite and even make us sick.

We give off a spiritual fragrance to God and to people we come in contact with. As Christians we have the life of God in us, it is a witness to the world.

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?"

(2 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭14-16‬ KJV)

The more that we walk in Christ the more of an aroma we will be to God and to the world, life unto life and death unto death. Paul says that God causes us to triumph in Christ. The more that we wald in Him the more we triumph. If you walk in the flesh then you will be putting off a foul odor. As you walk in the spirit you will put off a sweet odor to God and to those around you.

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men." (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ KJV)

The same life that is in Christ is in us.  This life has the same results in us as it does in Him, it is the light of men telling them of the existence of a loving God.
