Faith: a Word of God Function
Devotions:
To receive anything from God it takes faith. Faith is a function of the Word of God. When we need healing or finances we pray and try to believe but many times we do not give priority to the Word of God, then we wonder why we do not receive. To receive we must put the Word of God first place and saturate ourselves with the Word until faith comes. We cannot receive from God apart from faith, our believing what God has said is His will for us.
“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 NASB
When we are in a desparate situation we need to be desparately feeding on the answer. I had a friend who had ALS which is a degeneration of the mylen sheathing around the nerves. He was dying but trying to believe that God was going to heal him. So he was waiting on God and trying to go about his normal daily routine. He died because he was waiting for God to do something. God had already done something at the cross of Jesus and God was waiting on him to get in faith and receive what God had already done.
This same thing applies to every area of our lives, emotional healing, financial healing, healing of our minds, God is waiting on us to get into His word and receive what He has already done for us. We are not trying to earn or merit anything but to receive revelation on what is already ours. Many times we do not get desparate enough to not quit until we get our answer. The story of the woman with the issue of blood, Mark 5:25-34, had finally grown desparate enough to risk her own life to recieve from Jesus. How desparate are you? She was do desparate that she acted. She did not just wait to see if Jesus would come her way. She sought Him out and received her healing. How desparate are you to see a change in your life?
Then we pray or speak to the situation and finally we act like what we have prayed we have received or what we have spoken is a reality. Faith is released through the words that we speak when we have faith in our hearts. Our words change things. What are you saying?
