Power of Testimony

Devotions:

        The power of a testimony.

When Jethro, Moses' father-in-law heard what the Lord God had done, He believed in God.

“Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, in delivering them from the hand of the Egyptians. So Jethro said, "Blessed be the LORD who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people."” ‭Exodus‬ ‭18:9-11‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬

We are to experience the goodness of the Lord and then tell others and demonstrate His goodness.  Our God is good and no evil dwells with Him.  Our God is extremely desirous to demonstrate His goodness to us and the rest of the world.  We have the joy of first experiencing His goodness all the time then being His mouth piece to tell of that goodness to others.  Just like Moses experienced the deliverance of Israel from the bondage of Egypt with many signs, wonders and miracles.  The God of the Old Covenant is the same God that cut the New Covenant only we have a better covenant based on better promises.  What we see in the Old Covenant He will do for us and even more, sin has been totally dealt with.  By the power of His word you can choose to say no to sin

“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."”  ‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭NASB‬‬

There is no freedom without knowing the word of God.  As we are serious about knowing the Word of God we will experience a liberty from bondage which is a greater liberty than the children of Israel being delivered from Egypt.  As they went they were healed and stayed healed.  They went as a very prosperous people and they were totally set free from oppression.  This is a picture of God's goodness towards us only more so.  They could be physically free but they could not be free spiritually.  They did not know that their sins were forgiven.  In Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven and we have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness.

Pursue, go after the goodness of God, experience it to the maxium that you can then freely tell others of the goodness that you have experienced  Abraham was told that God would bless him so that in all the nations of the earth would be blessed. You are Abraham's seed.
