Devotions:

“Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God, [even] Your God (Godhead), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions. [Ps. 45:6, 7.]” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” ‭1 John‬ ‭

4:17

‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus is a hater of iniquity, lawlessness, sin and injustice and so are we and He is a lover of righteousness.  Much of the time our problem is that we hate sin but we are so ensnared by it that we do not know how to get set free.  The more we struggle the deeper we become entangled.  We hate the sin but we can not seem to rid ourselves of it no matter how much we resolve never to do it again we end up falling again and condemning ourselves.  We walk around miserable and condemned.

But Jesus came to set us free.  His death on the cross was to liberate us from sin.  But if we do not know the truth then the lies of satan will hold us in bondage.  This is why we must meditate upon the word of God to put ourselves in the place that we can receive the revelation of the truth from God.

“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” ‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 36‬ ‭NASB‬‬

We are not waiting for Jesus to set us free, He has already done that.  We are on the path of discovery to understand what He has already done for us.  When we understand it we can walk in it.

We love righteousness and we hate iniquity so God our Father has given us the joy of gladness above the world.
