Changed by Glory
Devotions:
“But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 3:7-11, 17-18 KJV
In the New Covenant we have the privilege of gazing intently on a greater glory than Moses. Of all the children of Israel only two dared to associate with the glory of God, Moses and Joshua. When Moses entered the tent of meeting and the glory of God would descend upon it as Moses talked with the Lord, Joshua, his servant would be there and linger in the glory long after Moses left. None of the other children of Isreal wanted to pay the price. To come into the presence of the Lord is freely offered by Him but we have to press into His presence and not get distracted by other things.
When Moses beheld the hind part of the glory of the Lord there was a limited change in him. He was still in his sin. We who are born again in our spirit, when we behold the glory of the Lord we see a reflection of who God has made us in our recreated human spirit and it causes our souls to change in conformity with who He has made us.
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 KJV
When you look at the real you, your spirit, when you are born again you look exactly like Jesus. His glory brings a transformation of our soul because His glory reveals to us our real self in Jesus.
The glory of the Lord is the Holy Spirit.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 KJV
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11 KJV
You have been made righteous by the blood of Jesus. Your sins are all forgiven. Take time daily to come into the presence of His glory. Connect with God through praise and worship.
