Devotions:
The second prayer that Moses prayed to God there on Mt. Sinai was the God's presence would go with them. God had said that because the people were a stiff necked people that He, God would not go with them lest He break out against them and kill them. Moses knew that God's presence is what set them apart from all other people of the earth so Moses pleaded with God that He go with them in their journey,
“And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.” Exodus 33:15-16 KJV
“And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” Genesis 39:2, 21 KJV
God was with Joseph as a slave and in prison and finally when he appeared before Pharoah. Joseph prospered in all that He put his hand to do because God was with Him.
We read about David's exploits and successes because God was with him.
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38 KJV
Jesus did His mighty work because God the Father was with HIm. In Romans 8:31,32 it states that God is for us. In Mathew 18: 28 Jesus said that He is with us always
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV
God is with us always so we should expect success and favor in all that we do. We shoiuld be separated by the blessings of God from all the other peoples of the earth because of the presence of God on us indivitually and even more collectively.
Cultivate your awareness of God who is with you and for you and in you. Be convinced as Moses was that the greatest blessing is the presence of God upon you. It is by your faith in this reality that you walk in the fullness of it.
