Complete In Him
Devotions:
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” Colossians 1:26-28 KJV
Our salvation is not of our own will, our own strength, or of our own effort. It is all of God's doing. Our part is to accept the faith that the word of God creates in us and act on it. That is what it is to believe and respond to what He has done. Paul manifest the secret of God in salvation, Christ in us,, the hope of glory. The more we understand and believe this them more complete we are in Christ, the more Christ is established in us. With Christ in us making us complete means that we do not look to the flesh to walk pleasing to the Father instead we lean totally on the life of Christ within us. This is not a passive thing but an active looking to Christ in us.
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 KJV
The greater one in us is He that has already overcome the enemy and all his schemes. If we get drawn into warring in effort of the flesh we will lose. If we war in the spirit by taking the truths of the word of God and believing them and standing on them then we have already the victory even before we see the natural manifestation.
Our victory is in the victor, Christ, who already defeated the enemy and stands in victory in us. Our place is to learn how to yield to Him to let His victory flow through us. This is what it is to be complete in Christ. Another way of saying it is to know that we are completely loved by Jesus and the Father.
