Imagination

Devotions:

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:.......” ‭Proverbs‬ ‭23:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our imaginations are senarios and little movies that run through our minds that set the path that we walk in.  The more we walk in those paths the more either entrenched we become or the more established.  It the path is sin, it becomes a stronghold in our lives. If it is in the way or righteousness then it becomes a strong rock on which we stand. These imaginations are fed by what we read, see, hear and choose to think upon.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” ‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:23-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we feed on what the world has to offer then the world and it's master, Satan will control our mind and our lives.  If we put a watch over our hearts and mind as to what we allow in, keep our the way of sin, and choose to focus on what God thinks about us by meditating on His word day in night then we will walk in the ways of life.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” ‭Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Here God told Joshua to speak, or confess the word and meditate upon it day and night, filling his heart and imagination with God's true and righteous way of life, so that he may observe to do it. Or I believe that he may see to do it.  When he sees it in his heart then he can do it.

A part of meditation is as you are reading the word over and over to yourself stop and try to imagine what that word looks like on you.  Example 2 Corinthians 5:21...what does it mean that He made Him who knew no sins to become my sin.  How does that truth define my life? What lies does it expose? How would I look different in my actions if I acted like this is true?

The second part "That I might become the righteousness of God in Christ." How does that change my life? My prayer life? My lifestyle?
