The Lord's Building

Devotions:

“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.”  ‭Psalms‬ ‭127:1‬ ‭NASB‬‬

All our work is in vain unless the Lord is the one doing it with us.  We need to find out what the will of the Lord is and make that our plan of action.  When we step out to do our own thing without the leading of the Lord then our efforts will be in vain.

In Genesis 17 God reveals Himself as the Almighty God or in Hebrew, El-Shaddai, the full breasted one.  It is upon God that we are to be totally dependent upon.  He is the source of our sustenance emotionally, spiritually, physically....in every area of our existence.  There is no other source of the supply that we need to live.

In our building, in our guarding we need to be on the Lord's side.  We need to be cooperating with the Lord.  When we know the will of the Lord and act on it then it is the Lord who will bring about the success.  In dealing with other people, as you act on what the Lord has given to you, if they will not accept God's word, your success is in being obedient not in making things happen.

“For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NASB‬‬

As we partner with God then our work will not be in vain but will succeed.  As we partner with God and the enemy puts up road blocks and snares, we then have the faith to remove these road blocks and snares.  His word of what we are to do creates faith in our hearts to see the fullfilment.  Find out what the will of God is and then do it no matter how silly it seams.
