The Rock

Devotions:
“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.”
Psalms 18:2, 31, 46 KJV
“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:4 KJV
Our lives are to be established on Christ. He is the foundation stone that will never be moved. If we try to establish our lives on our works, we will fail. If we try to establish ourselves on the world system, it will fail. If we try to establish ourselves on the natural, it will fail. Even the earth is failing and will be burnt up by fire by the Lord and a new earth and a new heaven will be establised.
“Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:26-27 KJV
There is a whole lot of shaking going on. Many times in our private lives we are shaken by incidents that happen to us some our fault some not our fault. But is we are established on the Rock, Christ we will not be shaken. How do we become established on Christ, by being established in His word. Not a list of do's and don't but a picture of Christ and His redemptive work on our behalf. In this redemptive work is the revelation of the love of our Heavenly Father for us. The word of God is a picture of Christ and Christ Jesus is a picture of the Father. It is not prayer, it is not fasting but the word of God that gives the foundation. Prayer and fasting are important in their place but they are ineffective without the word of God in our hearts. Become a person of the Word of God.
