God is Willing and Able
Devotions:
“Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:”
Jeremiah 32:17 KJV
We easily say that God is all powerful but do we really believe it? Here Judah being taken into captivity because of their continually turning from God and turning to idols. It looked bleak. God told Jeremiah that He would restore the people to the land. This looked in the natural as totally impossible and yet Jeremiah expresses his faith by this declaration. Jeremiah knew that Judah was being taken into captivity because of their unfaithfulness. God had demonstrated His willingness by the miracles that He performed for them but their hearts were hardened, they did not see it as a demonstration of His love for them. They just used Him for their own purposes. We need God's word on what we pray for and we need to ask Him how He wants to bring about the results. When we hear from Him we will have the faith to receive what He has declared is His will.
The greatest demonstration of God's love and willingness to act on our behalf was the crucifixion of Jesus for us. If God loved us that much when we were His enemy, how much more will He do for us now that we are His sons. God has the power and the willingness to move on our behalf He just requires for us to ask in faith believing that we receive when we ask even when we do not see any immediate change in our circumstances. God cannot lie, as we stand on His word and express our faith through our praise and worship that we have the answer for what we prayed then we will see the results.
