Foundations

Devotions:
The foundation of our lives makes a difference in success or failure. If the foundation is ourselves and our own efforts then we will fail. If our foundation is on another person, that person will fail us and we will fall. If our foundation is in a humanistic philosophy or a religion then we will fail. But if our foundation in in the Lord Jesus Christ and His love for us then we will succeed and withstand every storm of life. Our enemy continuously tries to destroy humans and if they have a faulty foundation then they will be destroyed.
“For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11 NASB
“"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and great was its fall."” Matthew 7:24-27 NASB
The words of Jesus are to reveal our Savior. Our foundation is in Christ. It is knowing who we are in Christ and that cannot change. The more we uncover this foundation the more secure we are. When the adversary arises tries to destroy us we stand because we look to our loving Heavenly Father knowing that we are the delight of His heart because we are in Jesus. He is our righteousness, He is our holiness. He is our standing before the Father. It is not by our works of righteousness but by His mercy and grace.
