Where Is God?
Devotions:
Where is God when tragedy happens, when earthquakes or plagues or famines? Where is God when bad things happen to us personally? These are questions that all people ask and some even reject the existance of a good God. But if we read the word of God we find out that God gave the rulership of the earth of mankind, to Adam and Eve.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28 KJV
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” Psalms 115:16 KJV
God never planned for man to go it alone but in working with God to rule the earth. But God told man that whatever you say on the earth is what will happen according to the laws that God set in motion. There are consequences for our actions so when Adam sinned and turned the rulership to Satan, then Satan had the legal right to destroy the earth as he gained man's permission.
Bad things happen to us because Adam opened the door and allowed the evil one to come in and wreck havoc on the earth. Satan is destroying the earth as quickly as he can and the human race with it.
But God sent a Savior, Jesus Christ to regain the sovereign over the earth. God still works through men as we pray and believe God to move. But where people are not following God, Satan still has the upper hand to steal, kill and destroy. God's desire is for us to avoid the horrors that Satan has in store for us and for the world. It is God's will that none be lost but all would come to the knowledge of Him and His victory over the enemy.
“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
Ephesians 1:19-23 KJV
Stand against the work of the enemy through the power of your faith released through your words. God called us to rule and reign with Him.
