God's Love

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." Romans 13:8-10 KJV
“He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Luke 10:26-27 KJV
The very foundation of the life that we have is the God kind of love. Paul says that the whole law is summed up in love. When we walk in the God kind of love we will do no harm to our neighbor and we will walk in true worship of God.
The law could not be fulfilled by humans. We could not love God with all of our being nor our neighbor as ourselves until we saw the love of God demonstrated in the death of Jesus.
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.” 1 John 4:9-11 KJV
The more we focus on Jesus and His love demonstrated for us the more we will walk in love with our Father and Jesus and the more we will love those around us. But without a revelation of God's love for us we do not have the capacity to love. Love does no wrong to a neighbor.
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:15-16 KJV
To continually dwell in God's presence and walk in His power we must walk in His love for each other. That is no gossiping, no returning evil when evil has been done to you instead return a blessing. Love is not taking but giving and perfering others above yourself. This is the way of God.
