Doing the Works of Jesus

Devotions:
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."” Matthew 28:18-20 NASB
We have been given an awesome privilege, to proclaim the good news about God's love for His creation and His salvation for everyone who will believe. Jesus demonstrated this when He ministered for three years in Israel. His ministry was not in word and proclaimation only but in demonstration of the Spirit and power.
“Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me.
If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."” John 10:25, 37-38 NASB
Paul also makes mention in his letters that he came demonstrating, signs, wonders and miracles. If we are to do the work that God has set before us we need this same attesting sign.
“For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” Romans 15:18-19 NASB
“For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20 NASB
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.” John 14:12 NASB
So we should expect to do the works of Jesus in the demonstration of spirit and power as Jesus and Peter and Paul did. If we are not seeing attesting signs and miracles the we need to question what we need to change. The world will only be won by the demonstration of the supernatural along with the proclaimation of the Gospel.
