Fruit of Righteousness

Devotions:

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.”  ‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God says to not despise the gift that is within you.  One of those gifts is the gift of righteousness.  The Spirit of God through the prophet Isaiah says that the work of righteousness is peace.  We have peace with God becasue we are His righteousness.  That righteousness does not change.  If we violate our righteousness and sin we are to run to God not cowering or afraid because we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus.  It is coming into God's presence that will transform us.  We cannot let go of our sins to come into His presence, we let go of our sins because we come into His presence.  His presence empowers us to walk in God's level of life and to caste off the slime and dirt of the world that we call sin. Along with the peace is quietness and assurance.  We come to know and believe the love our Father has for us, even when we sin.  We are not seeking the lime light, we are seeking His light.

The fruit of righteousness is the tree of life because all life comes from the Father and our righteousness means that we can come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and help at the time of our need. We come and feast upon His life and go away satisfied.  When we are satisfied then sin no longer is a temptation to us.  You are tempted to sin because you are not satisfied in Him.

God has given us this righteousness as a gift. There is no greater righteousness than what we have received but most do not walk in what they have and thus despise the gift because they do not believe what God has done.  Continually confess that your are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The more you confess it the more you will start to believe it and the more fruit you will walk in, peace, quietness, assurance and life.
