God With Us

Devotions:
What causes us to do well and to prosper? Our own diligence? Our own effort? Maybe it is luck or an opportunity? No what causes us to prosper and be successful is the Lord's presence with us.
“Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and how the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.
The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph's charge because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.” Genesis 39:3, 23 NASB
In what ever situation Joseph found himself in God was with him and caused him to prosper. Whether it was in slavery or in the dungeon or as second in command in Egypt. God was with him. God is with us and also in us. We should expect to prosper in all that we do as we look to the Lord.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.” Proverbs 3:5-7 NASB
Joseph was looking to the Lord. When the two servants of Pharoah were thrown into prison and each had a different dream, Joseph told them that it was the Lord who gave interpretations to dreams. Joseph kept a good positive attitude even after being betrayed first by his brothers and then by Potipher's wife and forgotten by Pharoah's cup bearer.
Are we expecting God to prosper our ways because He is with us? God is no respecter of persons, what He did for Joseph in prospering him, He will do for us. He has already blessed us and will prosper everything that we put our hand to as we follow Him.
