The Enemies Deception

Devotions:

        We have an adversary, an enemy of our souls whose desire is to destroy us.  Then only weapon that he has is deceptions and lies.  He lied to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and he has continued this practice to this day. He has no authority except what we give him and he then takes our authority that our Fahter God gave us and uses it against us to destroy us.  Satan deceives us into believing lies about our Father God so that we do not believe Him and we try to take credit for the good in our lives rather than give the Glory to God. 

        God has given us His word to show us the truth and His Spirit to teach us the truth but we must avail ourselves of them.  We must put His word and the leading and teaching of His Spiriit first place in our lives.  We must know the voice or promptings of the Holy Spirit in our own heart and treat these prompting as what they are, the directions of God, the wisdom of the universe.  Only when we value the truth will we then shine a light on the lies of the enemy and walk securely in the path of life. 

        “And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

        “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

        Jesus is the truth that sets us free.
