GOD'S WORK

Devotions:

        “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NASB‬‬

        Paul says that he is confident, are you confident about God and His plan of salvation for you? Paul is confident that God began a good work in you.  Sometimes when we look inwardly we think that we do not see any good thing.  But God began a good work in you.  You did not do it.  You cannot earn it but God did it inspite of you.  And more than that God will complete or perfect the work until the day of Jesus Christ.  Once again we cannot perfect the work, only God can.  We are just to cooperate with God and walk in the obedience of faith, knowing that we please Him because we are in Christ. 

        “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NASB‬‬
        God completes His work in us as we look unto Jesus or fix our eyes on Jesus. Jesus is the author and perfecter or finisher of our faith.  Once again God is doing the work through Jesus as we gaze upon Him. Our job is to fix our eyes upon Him no matter what happens, or what the circumstances.  We do this through our praise and thanksgiving.  Quit trying to save yourself and let God do the work.
