Devotions:

One of the most important aspect of our Christianity is our identity.  When we understand our identity then we will not be seeking our identity through flashy clothes or expensive jewelry or sexy apparel. We will not be trying to get attention by acting silly or being a clown or a flirt but we will know the true love of the Father who loves unreservedly and with nothing required in return.  God loves us regardless of our behavior.  As we understand His love for us we will respond as we receive His love.  We will become secure in who we are, Sons of the Most High God.  We then do not lord it over people but gladly serve them from a desire to be a blessing to them because of our Father's love for us.  We know that we are secure in His love and that He will never forsake us nor leave us.  His love will melt our hearts so out of a passion for Him we will want to do those things that please Him. Our affirmation comes from our knowing His unwavering love for us.  His acceptance of us.  The more time we spend meditating on His love for us the more we will radiate His life from our very being.

“Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭NASB‬‬

This passage is not saying to not wear the gold or braid your hair but that our focus is to be upon the inner beauty of knowing God.  Our gentleness and quietness comes from Him and being in His presence. Our goal it to know Him intimately and fully.

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” ‭John‬ ‭17:3‬ ‭NASB‬‬
