Relying On God
Devotions:
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Peter 4:10-11 KJV
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 KJV
In the New Covenant we have the privilege of walking by the Spirit. Everything we do is to be by the Spirit. Jesus says that the it is the spirit that quickens, or gives life. If we walk by the flesh then it is dead or profits nothing. Even in working for God or doing churchy things if we are acting on our own planning it will fail. It is when we seek God and find out His plan and do what He shows us do we succeed. Jesus said that He only did what He saw His Father doing. He is our example. This is how we are suppose to live life, by the power of the Spirit.
We have our five senses that are to be subject to our spirit. That is when we go to cross a street if the sign says do not walk, then we heed the sign. But our spirit is not to be subject to our five senses. As we develope our spiritual sensitivity and then give our spirit priority over our senses and our rational thinking God will lead us by His Spirit through our spirit.
As we take time to meditate in the word of God we strengthen our spiritual connection and the ability to hear from the Spirit.
In whatever we do on Sunday, in church, throughout the week we are to look to the Spirit of God for the strength and wisdom to fulfill what we are to do.
