Power of God Unto Salvation

Devotions:

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”  Romans‬ ‭

1:16-17

‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."  1 Thessalonians‬ ‭

2:13

‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we believe in a religious philosophy, it has no power to change us. When the responsibility lies with us to keep and perform the philosophy then it is limited by our own strength which is also limited. When Christianty becomes a religious philosophy then it is powerless to change us.  The basis of Christiaity is that through death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for our sins we receive eternal life, God's life and nature. This life transforms us, our spirit, and continues to transforms our soul and will transform our bodies. This power of the gospel to transform us is not reliant on our ability or strength but on the power of God. This is the power not only to forgive us of our sins but also to deliver us from the power of sin. Sin is not just a declaration of God of something He deems a sin but sin destroys us and God's great love for us demands that He be in opposition to sin. We may see the ultimate end of the sin as being destructive but it will destroy us even without God's judgement.
Thank God for His delivering power to set us free from what would destroy us.
