Why the Mess?

Devotions:

There are many differing views of God and why we humans are in the predicament that we are. Why all the suffering, hurt and pain.  Why the innocent suffer and great tragedies happen.  The only true answer is in the Bible but many who study the Bible do not understand because the Bible is not a book of reason that we can figure out with our minds.  Paul says that the natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit.  Many times our own beliefs and traditions hinder our understanding the truth.

So why are we in the mess that we are?

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” ‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭8:4-6‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭115:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As humans we were made to rule and reign on this earth under the authority of God.  Adam turned this authority over to Satan, our archenemy. The whole human race was subject to the cruelty of Satan. But in Jesus we got back that authority.  So under God's authority we are once again to rule and reign upon the earth as born again sons of God.  This privilege/responsibility is demonstrated in our prayer life.  If we do not use our God given authority then the enemy gains the upper hand.  We who are filled with the Spirit have the added advantage of praying out the will of the Father by praying in tongues. We operate like Jesus did by first going to the Father as a priest to minister to Him and then speaking forth what He gives us as a king in the earth.
