Righteousness

Devotions:

“if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:21-24‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Through the work of redemption, God has given us His righteousness.  Righteousness means that we stand in the awesome presence of Almighty God, the Father without any fear, guilt or shame.  We have a perfect audience with the Father as a beloved son.  There is no longer any sin or reproach between us and God.  All disfavor has been removed and we have a clear channel, a favorable channel to God.  He is predisposed to bless us.  So when we pray we have no interference from the devil or any where else unless we do not believe that we have been made His righteousness. God has cleared the path to Him through Jesus but if we do not believe it we will not walk that way.  That is why Paul tells us to renew our mind to the fact that we are holy and righteous by the new birth.  As we meditate on these verses we will begin to see ourselves as Gdo sees us and we will begin to act in accordance with what we believe.  We will pray and know that we have the answer.  Sickness and disease will melt before us along with lack because we will know the Father intimately.  This is what our Father longs for, our fellowship which comes from knowing and believing in the righteousness that He has given us.

Make a decision to walk in this righteousness and not the filth of the world.
