Clean
Devotions:
“Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."”
Acts
NASB
How we view outselves will determine how we act. If we see ourselves as unworthy, that is what we truly believe about ourselves, then that is how we will act. We may greatly desire to be worthy and feel frustrated and condemned because we cannot seem to attain worthiness before God. In reality, we cannot make ourselves worthy before God. God made us worthy by the blood of Jesus. What God told Peter about the unclean animals, holds true for us. The vision pertained to the Gentiles whom God had cleansed:
“and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."1 John 2:2 NASB
The Gentiles had not even heard of Jesus at this point and yet God called them cleansed, how much more those of us who have accepted the forgiveness of our sins in Jesus.
What are you calling yourself? Even you miss it really bad? God has called you clean, holy and righteous not based on your behavior but exclusively on the blood of Jesus and His behavior. The choice is for you to try to make yourself clean, holy and righteous OR to accept what God has done in Jesus. As we accept and confess what God has done, our faith grows in who God has made us and our behavior changes accordingly. We keep our eyes on Jesus and His work, not our behavior. There is no condemnation for those who are in Chist Jesus.
