God's Good Gifts

Devotions:

      “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”  James‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭NASB‬‬

        “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”  ‭John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        God only bestows upon us good gifts. Because He has given us authority on earth He must stand back and allow us to do the things that hurt and destroy us.  Even as He allowed Adam and Eve to sin and choose Satan over Himself, God, He allows us to choose Satan even though the fruit of his presence is to steal, kill and destroy.                                     

        One of Satan's tricks is to get us to believe that evil comes from God and that evil is God's tool to displine us. God will use what ever comes into our lives to teach us but He is not the author of the evil.  Some people call the evil good because they believe that God is in total control of all that happens, but He is not. He has given humans authority to act .  Israel came up to the promised land and God said "go in, I have given it to you.' Israel refused and so spent 38 years wandering in the wilderness until all died that were over 20 when told to go in except Joshua and Caleb. God took the next generation in to the promised land. God could not force the Israelites to do what they did to want.

        Whatever is good is of God. Whatever is not good is not of God. Sickness and disease are not of God and not God's will for us.  Poverty is not God, it is not good.  Unforgiveness is not God nor His will  Sometimes something can seem good but in reality it will destroy us if we engage in it.  We must trust God's judgement as to what is good and what is not.  To stand in faith against these onslaught of the enemy we must be able to know what is the enemy and what is God.
