A Fixed Heart

“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.”
Psalms 57:7 KJV
Once we are born again we need to become established in the word of God. We do not follow our feelings. We do not follow our circumstances. Our faith is not built on our experiences apart from the word of God.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 KJV
Here James talks about a double minded man. That is a person who one moment says that God will give him wisdom because he asked and the next moment say that God will not give him wisdom. He is basing his faith on his feelings, experiences and circumstances so he wavers back and forth about God's love for him and he never receives what God has for him. This applies for anything that you ask from God. Our faith is based on His word and we must be steadfast standing on His word to see it come to pass in our lives. Our hearts must be fixed in God. Our experiences must come from us believing His word and standing and seeking it come to pass in our lives.
Our heart is fixed by deciding to believe it and meditating on it until it becomes real to us. When our heart is fixed then we will sing and praise God unconsciously and continuously.
