God Bless

Devotions:

        God's greatest desire is to bless us but He cannot when we are unrighteous or live in unrighteousness.  We who have received what Jesus did, have been made the righteousness of God in Christ through the new birth.  It was a seed that was planted in our hearts and as we feed on the word of God and choose to come into His presence that seed grows and matures to bear fruit.  Our righteousness and righteous acts depend on God. Our part is to identify our weaknesses and turn to Him and His power within us to make us more than overcomers. 

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” ‭1 John‬ ‭5:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

        How does believing that Jesus is the Son of God cause us to overcome the world?  Because Jesus is the Savior of the world to everyone who will believe.  Our victory is in Him and in looking to Him and His power within us to overcome the world,  The eternal life that He gave us is His victorious life that raised Him from the dead over all of the curse that was upon mankind, sickness, disease, poverty, sin, iniquity, trangressions.....  Everything that was introduced when Adam sinned and all the effects, Jesus over came.  There is no curse, no demon that Jesus redemption and salvation has not dealt with.  We stand clean before God because of what Jesus did not because of what we do.  What we do comes out of our believing in what Jesus did in making us right with the Father.
