Working Out Your Salvation

Devotions:
“and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.” Philemon 1:6 ESV
“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Philemon 1:6 KJV
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13 KJV
Many take the passage in Philippians to mean that we need to work for our salvation. But here in Philemon we see that Paul prays that we would come to the full knowledge, the effectual knowledge of every good thing that is in us in Christ Jesus. So our full salvation is already in us in seed form and we are to own what is already in us. How? Through our faith. We work out our salvation by continually confessing who God has made us in the new birth, holy, righteous, healed, a new creation, favored and beloved of God. All of this is ours whether we confess it and walk in it or not, but we will not walk in it until we believe it and confess it because God said it was so. We speak the reality of God's word and in doing that we choose to believe what God has said over what the enemy keeps telling us. We are allowing the God in us to take dominion over the corruption of the world that we previously engaged in that was destroying us.
Discover who you are in the word of God and engage it until that is the picture that you have of yourself in your mind. Then you will act like the son of God that you are (male and female)
