“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In spiritual warfare the two areas that we must watch is what comes out of our mouth and what we think on or dwell on or meditate on.  We have a tendency to speak what our circumstances are or what our fears are.  This only reinforces what is already there or brings into existence our fears.  Fear is of the devil.  God is love and perfect love cast out fear.  If we really believe that God loves so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins then what do we have to fear, God is for us and with us and in us.  What comes out of our mouth is a product of what we meditate upon what we see or hear.  When we say what we are meditating upon it establishes it, positive or negative.  So we need to guard what we watch, read or hear.  Secondly our enemy, Satan, puts thoughts of fear, doubt and worry into our head as well as unclean thoughts and thoughts of jealously, envy, covetousness and other thoughts that are not of God.  Just because a thought comes into your head does not mean that you should own it.  If it is contrary to God's revelation of our salvation then we must counter it with words of God's promise.  We purposely choose to meditate upon God's word, when the enemy attacks with thoughts then we can immediately speak the truth out, God's word, and reject the lie.
