Witness By The Spirit

Devotions:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 KJV
God has provided us with power to live before Him by the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This baptism came on the day of Pentecost and transformed their witness. Jesus did not tell the disciples here to witness though that is something we are to do but His emphasis here is that we will be His witness. By the power of the Spirit, our very lives will testify to those around us of His presence.
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” John 16:7-11 KJV
No where in the Old Testament were the Israelites told to evangelize because they did not have the equipment. In the New Testament we were given the Holy Spirit not only in the new birth but also in the baptism in the Holy Spirit to aid us in reaching the world with the good news of God's love as expressed in the redemption of mankind.
After we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit we are to activate ourselves daily by praying in the Spirit. As we pray in the Spirit we are praying the will of the Father because we pray as the Spirit gives us the words. As we pray in the Spirit, the Spirit will then give us the interpretation as the Spirit wills and our mind will then be edified. We then just act on what the Spirit shows us and do what He shows us to do. This is the witness to the world, that we hear from God and do what h shows us to do and miracles happen.
