Greater Love Has No Man
March 23, 2022
Devotions:
Our inner concept of God is either that He is poor, stingy or uncaring about us. Instead of praying with confidence about our situation we beg God to move on our behalf instead of confidently speaking for the what God has already accomplished and declared to be ours. When we beg we are insulting God by not believing what He has said that He has already done for us.
What God says is truth but we put what He says on the same level of what people say. People make mistakes and misrepresent facts. God is perfect and cannot lie. We then should put more credit into what God has said than what people say or what circumstances and experiences insinuate.
God is rich, generous, and cares for us intimately and affectionately. Our faith is based on our understanding of how much He loves us. When we understand His love for us and His demonstrated goodness to us so that we see ourselves in the light of His love, it changes is into His love and gives us confidence in His liberal desire to bless us.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”John 12:24 KJV
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:13-15 KJV
