Walk In Humility

Devotions:

Doctrine, intellectual knowledge produces dogma that have to be defended. Relationship produces stability. When our confidence is in our doctrine we have a sense of security only when we are not challenged and protected. Only when our sense of well being is securely rooted in our relationship with Jesus, then our doctrine can be challenged with out effecting our sense of wholeness and security.(James Richards, “Breaking The Cycle” pg 95). When we know our relationship with Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit does not rest upon our good works or even if we sin but on the finished work of Jesus, then we will be secure in our relationship with God. We will be living as a Son of God and not as an orphan just waiting to be caste off if we do something wrong. The source of our peace, of our joy ,of the blessing that we are to walk in is God. When we know Him we will walk with confidence. If our doctrine are challenged, even by God we make the adjustment and go our way rejoicing. No one has perfect understanding of the things of God. We hold tight to what we know but we allow others the grace to disagree with us. Finally the test of our doctrine is how much love it produces in our hearts for God and for our fellow humans. This comes from a greater understanding the unconditional love that God has for us.
