Knowing the Signs of the Times

Devotions:

“of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;” ‭I Chronicles‬ ‭12:32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Humans are many times short sighted, that is they cannot see what is happening and know what to do to avoid up coming tragedy.  We in the church have the same problem.  We become too focused on ourselves and our own needs and miss the big picture of what is happening in the world.  We, as Christians, have been given a mandate by God to preach the gospel to every creature, that is human, and to make disciples of the nations.  We have been given the order and the authority to do this. We have also been given the desire to do this in the new birth, He put His laws on our mind and wrote them on our hearts so that we would know His will and have the desire to follow His will.  His mandate, by the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the Name of Jesus is to go into the dark places and bring the light of the gospel.  This may be the dark places of your neighbor or classmate or the clerk at the store.

To do this we must spend intimate time with our Father because we were not called to fulfill our own plan but His plan. He has the details and the specific assignment for each one of us.  His plan is not hard.

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””  ‭Matthew‬ ‭11:27-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our main pursuit is to know the Father and in knowing the Father, that is experiencing His love and mercy, we are to share with those who do not know Him how they can know Him.  We are to introduce people who do not know Jesus, to the living savior, a person.  Our first calling is come unto Him and experience His rest.  This rest is knowing that our salvation is secured and we are forgiven.  The more we are excited about this person, Jesus, the more people around us will be excited, they will either stone us or have a revival.  They will either accept the message and the Savior or they will reject Him. That is not our responsibility.  Our responsibility is to tell them of a Savior's love which will set them free from sin and make them right with the Father, the Creator of the Universe.  But you can only tell what you know,  Get to know the Father through Jesus.
